Additional Information Folder Information: All 6 of these letters are written from New Berne, North Carolina (written as "New Berne" or "Newberne"), to his sister back in Connecticut. Davis is wounded 8 February 1862 at Roanoke Island, and writes in detail of this battle and of his wound; but he is not discharged until October 1864, after serving his three years.
