Content Description They have been told to decide whether to enlist for the duration of the war or to go home. He wants to stay and fight, as that was what he joined up to do. He describes the awful conditions the men are living in, whilst the Pennsylvanian authorities decide what to do with them. The men have barely any clothes or food, and there was a rebellion in camp. After that they have been given as much food as they need.
