Content Description Archer signs over to Stone the title for "one half of the land secured to me...by the annexed deed...by N.F. Smith." Witnessed by William Christy, Willis A Jarvis, and J.W. Moorly. The deed from Niles Smith appears on pp.2-3, and specifies the location of the land and indicates that Branch paid Smith $1,000 for it. Signed by Smith on p.3 and witnessed by Henry Millard, E. Harris, and J.G. Welsh Meyer.

Additional Information Archer was a leader in the Texas Revolution, delegate to the Convention of 1833, a member of the first Texas Congress, and speaker of the Texas House of Representatives in its second session. Smith was a Texas patriot who had served in the Corps of Engineers during the Texas Revolution.
