Additional Information Pease moved to Texas in 1835 and fought at the Battle of Gonzales, the of the Texas Revolution. As a member of the General Council of the Provisional Government, he attended the convention that met at Washington-on-the-Brazos and wrote part of the Texas Constitution. He continued in public service, was admitted to the bar, and was elected governor in 1853.
