Content Description Glad to hear from Knox that he agreed with Thatcher that separating Maine from Massachusetts would be "destructive of its interests & respectability." Discusses the likely passage of a bill in Congress to establish a lighthouse on an island in the Penobscot Bay. Asks Knox if he will obtain some necessary paperwork to certify Congress's jurisdiction over the island.
