Bartlett, Secretary of State for Rhode Island, certifies these to be a true copy of resolutions passed in by the Rhode Island Legislature in May. Reprinted by Congress June 1856. Condemns Senator Preston Brooks' attack on Charles Sumner in May 1856 and violence recently inflicted on residents of Kansas by border ruffians.
