Content Description | Jones has written Skeensbury as the place he was writing from, but it was properly known as Skenesboro, New York at the time. It is now Whitehall, New York. Says he has received his ensign pay up to 24 June 1777 and asks for two months advance on his pay. At the bottom is a note by Robert Kingston that says Jones was advanced six guineas on 14 July 1777 and another six on 30 August 1777. |
