Content Description | Countersigned as a witness by William Leach. Certifies that Beckford gave to John Lovett 1/2 of a share of the prize captured by the privateer ship, the Pilgrim, Hugh Hill commander. In return, Beckford signs that he received from Lovett $220. Note on reverse signed by Lovett. Lovett was a privateer ship merchant and captain in Beverly, Massachusetts. He served as the agent for the prizes captured by the Pilgrim. |
