Additional Information Jean Charles de Borda was a French naval officer during the American Revolution. He was also a mariner and a scientist. Jean Baptiste Charles Henri Hector, Comte d'Estaing, was a French Vice Admiral sent with twelve battleships and fourteen frigates to assist the colonies during the American Revolution. Also the Marquis de Saillans.
