Additional Information | Niles' National Register was first published in 1811 as Niles' Weekly Register by Hezekiah Niles, and was commonly known as Niles' Register. Published every Saturday, the paper reprinted official reports, documents, and statistics, and was read all over the country by many prominent men. When Hezekiah's health failed his son William took over but sold the paper in 1839. It closed ten years later. |
