Additional Information | Josef de Jaudenes y Nebot was a staff member to Diego Maria de Gardoqui, Spanish diplomat in Philadelphia beginning in 1785, in 1788 he returned to Spain with Gardoqui. He returned to the U.S. in 1791, at which time, along with José Igancio de Viar, he became Spain's acting representatives to the U.S. Although they had no official diplomatic rank, the two men were referred to as chargé d'affaires. |
