His scholarship and reputation have expanded, and he has become a "very conspicuous character among the good people of Alabama." He expects to attend a local Baptist revival meeting. He also plans to start a geography school next season somewhere in the South. While he always tries to be friendly and sociable, the women here are larger and not as intelligent as other places. |
