Content Description | List of living crew aboard the Brig Lexington. States "taken from a Journal of Mr. Charles Herbert of Marblehead," Massachusetts. A note in the margin reports "Taken 1777 Aug. 7 from Newbury port in [frm?] Brig Fancy." Provides a list of names, and following the list states "the rest of the crew I have alist of their names in a book ... " Appears to be signed by Herbert at the top of the page. Docket states "Relating to Brig Lexington Sloop Lucretia." Possibly an excerpt from Herbert's captivity journal. |
