Additional Information | Barnett, a pioneer settler and public official, was among the "Old 300" to colonize Texas with Stephen Austin in 1823. He held several offices in Austin (including being elected alcalde in 1829) and was one of the three delegates from Austin Municipality to the Convention of 1836, where he signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. In 1836, he was appointed chief justice of Austin County. Huff, a pioneer settler and tradesman was among the "Old 300" to colonize Texas with Stephen Austin. |
