Content Description Appointing Jonathan Humphry a lieutenant colonel in the Connecticut militia. Also signed by George Wyllys as secretary. Seal of Connecticut affixed. Partially printed. There were multiple Jonathan Humphries from Simsbury, Connecticut who served during the American Revolution. The Jonathan Humphry who died in 1778 is the author of the letter and the subject of the commission. He was a lawyer.
