Content Description | Written at Fort Herkimer. Captain Moodie updates Knox on general news at the fort. Reports that the gun powder for the fort is stored in the cellar of a house occupied by eight or nine families. Worries that no work will get done due to a lack of provisions. Transmits muster rolls, asking Knox to pass them on to Major [John] Doughty. Complains that his company has no shoes. On verso, an autograph note signed ("HK") by Henry Knox specifies "Major Campbell will forward this on Sight, by Express." |
