My dear husband
I have received your letter of the 6th (?) and am glad that you arrived there so well here is now..teen days such severe cold that the animals at xxxxx several places are freezing to death in their stalls I am sending you by mail the package that you sent for had I known that mylord had not yet arrived it would have been better if you would have stayed here a bit more but since this is how it is I hope that the Lord will give us patience and that everything will come out allright
I hear that skipper Anton has rented van Schayek’s farm so should you send instructions what should be done with that
I am sad about our loss that the ships have been taken but I hope the Lord will be content to give it back to us doubled write how the price of the peas is there I have not sold since you departed everything is now quiet (?) there is now nothing doing I have told Tijerk that xxxxx xxxxx that sticking you will have to shave wood from the window or in the width or in the thickness. I hope the ships will come in safely that we won’t get heavier losses break off with this and commend you into the protection of the Most Highest
