By Authority of the State of Connecticut, you are hereby commanded to summons [struck] Samuel Osborn, Runin Brady and Lazarus Tolley all of Woodbridge the County of New Have asored to appear before the County Court to be holden at Fairfield within and for the County of Fairfield on the third Tuesday of Nouv imftent [sic] then and there to answer unto Cyrus Beers of New town in the County of Fairfield. in a Plea of the Cafe, whereupon the Plaintiff declares and says, that the defendants in and by a certain Writing or Note, under their Hands by them well executed, dated the 1st Day of September Anno Domini, 1785 promised the plaintiff to pay to him for Value received the Sum of L 56:15 h Lawful many on demand with the lawful interest [illegible] paid as by the said Writing or Note, ready in Court to be Shewn, appears; Now the Plaintiff further says, that the Defendants their Promise Aforesaid not regarding, have never performed the same, though often requested and demanded, which is to the Damage of the Plaintiff the sum of Lawful Money And for the Recovery thereof with just Costs, the plaintiff brings this suit.
