Show/hide Know all men by these presents that we Mr. Digges jun Thomas Nelson Sun & Cole Digges ----- Are held and firmly bound unto our sovereign Lord King George the third in the sum of five hundred pounds current money of Virginia to be paid to our said Lord the King his Heirs and successors to the which payment well and truly to be made. We bind ourselves our Heirs Exors and admors jointly and usually firmly by these presents sealed will over seals and dated this twentieth day of September 1773. The Conoilion of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound William Digges jun is constitute and Commission from the Governor under the seal of the Colony bearing sate the Eighteenth day of this Instant. If therefore the said William Digges shall well and collect all suit Rents Tunis Forfeiters and Americiamenth accruing or becoming due to his majesty in the said County and shall duty Account for and pay the same to the Officers of his Majestys Revenues for the time being on or before the Second Tuesday in June Annually and shall in all other things truly and faithfully execute the Office of Sherif [sic] during this continuance then the above obligation to be void otherways to remain infull [sic] force and virtue. - Sealed and delivered William Digges Jun In presence of Thd Nelson Jr. Cole Digges.
