Content Description In the trial of Robert and Johannis Van Deusen v. Josiah Loomis, Jeremiah Muller declares that the land known as Taghkanic was in the possession of Robert Livingston, the first proprietor of the Manor of Livingston, over 60 years ago. He further states "that the said Lands have Ever since been held and enjoyed as He has heard and doth Believe under the said Robert Livingston and his heirs and were always Deemed and esteemed to be within the province of New York and has Been in the possession of the said Robert Livingston and his heirs . . . for above sixty five years." Muller signed with his mark.
