Content Description Written in a secretarial hand and signed by Madame de Leval. Reports she has been in Philadelphia for 15 days and their business has not moved forward. Says it is impossible for her stay in this undetermined situation. States the proposal of William Bingham "cannot be considered" until after Knox has "fixed the matter" with her. Believes in her cause more than ever now. Writes, "I have a right to bring an action against you, for the execution of our Contract, or for Costs & damages which may arise from your delaying." Says she is willing to make any reasonable arrangement. Claims she is willing to give up much of her interest but that she would not ruin her reputation. Expresses her anger about the situation and the injustice she feels. Noted on page three, "True Copy from the French."
