Content Description Seated left-facing portrait of Johnson. Behind his chair is a small covered table with a book and piece of paper. Engraving based on a painting by Alonzo Chappel, who in turn used a photograph. By the lower left corner "Painted by" and on the lower right "Alonzo Chappel." Printed signature below image with "Likeness from a recent Photograph from life." Noted at the bottom of the page as "Entered according to act of Congress A. D. 1864 by Johnson Fry & Co - in the clerks office of the district court of the southern district of N.Y."
