Content Description Engraved and published by Tanner and printed by Rosner & Eskr. The defeat of the British at the Battle of Plattsburg thwarted Sir George Prevost's planned invasion of the United States through the Hudson Valley and strengthened the American bargaining position for peace in Ghent. The battle was one of the most decisive of the War of 1812.
