| Content Description | Letter is signed by "Mary & Cornell." They were very happy to have received his letter and it has been a long time since he had last written. They write that Uncle John and Aunt Lydia are feeling poorly. The other family friends are well. The new house is very nice and a family friend, Justice Clarke, is building it for them. With help being scarce and Uncle John not feeling well, they gave up the idea of using stone for their house and are busy working on a frame. They provide a detailed description of the dimensions of the new house. Write about the excellent bedrooms, cellar and other rooms in the new house. There was a great wedding for Louisa Cable who is now Louisa Clarke. Provide some details about where and when the wedding occurred. Write about what the bride, Louisa and the groom, Henry Clarke, wore to the wedding. Write that they think of him often and that he was in their minds during the wedding. State that everyone had a "jolly good time." |
