Additional Information Thompson served in the 1st Maine Sharpshooters and the 20th Maine Volunteers in Virginia. The collection includes forty-nine letters to his wife, Lizzie, with related personal papers and one account book. The bulk of the material dates from 1864-1865, but the account book includes entries until 1901.
