Additional Information GOLDSBOROUGH, Robert, (1733-1788), Delegate from Maryland; studied law at the Inner Temple, London, England; was admitted to the bar in 1754 and commenced practice in London; barrister of the Inner Temple, London, 1755-1759; returned to the colonies and was graduated from the Philadelphia College (now the University of Pennsylvania) in 1760; continued the practice of law at Cambridge, Md.; high sheriff of Dorchester County 1761-1765; burgess to the Maryland assembly in 1765; attorney general of Maryland in 1766; Member of the Continental Congress 1774-1776; member of the council of safety in 1775 and of the convention of the Province of Maryland, August 14, 1776, called to frame a constitution; member of the State senate in 1777.
