Additional Information | There is a prominent Revolutionary-era general named George Reid (1733-1815), but it is unclear whether the author of this document is the same person. The general lived and worked for most of his life in New Hampshire. While the place name of this document is illegible, it seems unlikely that the author would be writing to Knox about appointing a Justice of the Peace in New Hampshire, as Knox was on the council for the state of Massachusetts. |
