Author | Jackson, Andrew (1767-1845) |

Content Description | Confusion over whether Jackson received funds from the Quarter Master General in excess of what he was owed. Jackson believes he was due all funds he received, and that if he has received too much, it must be due to a misunderstanding. "It has allways been my desire, never to receive any money on account of the U States, unless where I was well warranted by cause, and such as others of equal grade in the army had been in the habit of receiving." Written to Calhoun, who would later become Jackson's Vice President and political adversary, as Secretary of War. |
