Content Description | Later copy. Informs Lincoln a name (possibly Lincoln's or someone Lincoln recommended) has been put on a list of candidates for a Surgeons Mate. Notes the President (George Washington) is the person who will decide when and who the appointment goes too. Thanks Lincoln for his service and notes it was "highly satisfactory" while Knox was in office. Addressee name and date was added at a later date. |
