Content Description | Christiana Swan, daughter of James Swan, discusses with Henry Knox's daughter Lucy her ideas about mankind and manners. She says Lucy would be welcome to stay with her and her family. Lucy had asked Christiana to inquire from certain unnamed gentleman about Lucy's fiancé "Col. Boid," but she has not had the chance to do so yet. Christiana thinks he won't be forthcoming, as he knows Christiana is sending information back to Lucy. Christiana, herself, can't attest to his character. Christiana tells Lucy of balls she has attended, but ultimately she has nothing that interesting to report. |
