Content Description | A certificate certifying that Bradford tendered to Henry Knox a deed of land "lying in the county of Hankock and State of Massachusetts...by a certain agreement made with James Swan." The price was $2 an acre. At the bottom of the document it reads, "the subscriber cannot pronounce as to the validity of the deed nor the right of Mr. Swan to give such a deed.-He cannot accept it - nor pay the fifty thousand dollars." |
