"Know all men by these presents, that I, Thomas J. Randolph, Executor of Thomas Jefferson... have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain and sell to the said [blank] certain [blank] negro slave [blank], named [blank] late the property of Thomas Jefferson, deceased."
