Content Description Writes that he has received an appointment to precede Mr. Peirce (possibly referring to John Peirce, Paymaster General and Commissioner of Army Accounts) in the settlement of the Virginia line accounts. Requests that "a lad" from Colonel Swift's regiment go with Mr. Peirce. A note initialed by Samuel Shaw reads " cannot be granted."
