Additional Information Folder Information: Schumbert, a Georgia officer and plantation owner, writes six letters to his wife describing daily activities and detailing futile Confederate military efforts, under the command of General Meloy, to turn back Sherman's forces: "[I]t seems that we cannot check the Yankies anywhere."
