My dear husband,
I would be remiss if I did not let you know that your familyx is still in good health and hope to hear the same from you here is there (no end?) Dellies (=Dellius) (domenie) xxx he has spread here that your affairs in England or with milord Bellemont do not stand well that that had been taken care of and that you were not well regarded but I hope that milord will do justice by you when you were suspended from your commission then the governor appointed 4 commissioners for the Indian affairs and their cleverness such that as recompense they have the makuase land if that takes place as they say is worth thousand lb. the citizens are xxxxxxxmighty discontented and want to petition milord when he comes that they will have to return the deed say that otherwise Albandy will be destroyed I hope that the Governor will now give you satisfaction that he tried to besmirch your honor in the case of the letters of master Pindell and send you the papers with Jacop Tenwessen I hope that milord by this time here is and that you may now have an end to your affairs in case you may not be collector because you are a Scotsman let it then be put on your son Johannes and I hope that milord will be favorable to you
and will see indeed that they have done it out of spite you have no greater enemies as Dirk Wessels and Domenie I wished that we had one who only concerned himself with the church but not worked to destroy the place and
