Robbert and Naetje just arrived here and Kas brings me a letter from the governor that the general was here xxxx wanted to speak with secket and you said he was not in the (pitch woods/wood where they are picking?) and he did not see him Mr. Kas is a big rascal to write that for I was there and cousin/niece Schuyler he would have seen it if secket has been there but he left as you went up and did not see ....(omers?) and which he said was not harmful and secket did want to have spoken with him he said I think the governor is looking for a quarl as you will see in his letter don’t be hasty we have to keep the bread and beer still a bit that Kas is a bad sneak he does not have mayor around now to complain about him so now he has to write that he does not understand with this xxxxxxxx be commended to the Lord in the protection of the Lord Yours Alida Livinghston
