Content Description | Robertson was a Confederate officer from Tennessee. Lincoln had requested the pardon from Attorney General Edward Bates the day before (see Basler, 2d suppl. 87). The circumstances for the pardon are unknown. Unfortunately Robertson died before receiving the pardon. |
