Content Description | Admiral Montagu informs Flucker that Admiral Samuel Graves will arrive later that month to assume command from British Governor of Massachusetts Thomas Gage. Orders Flucker to leave his house by midsummer. Flucker was Gage's secretary. Sandwich was lord of the British Admiralty during the Revolution. At the time, colonists in New England were becoming increasingly hostile toward the British and the British military was mobilizing in response. |
